Fall landscaping
October 25th, 2004
Well, I finally did it. I had been thinking about doing some rock landscaping for a few months now. So, I bought about 2 and a half tons of river rocks (4-6 inches) from American Excavation Services in Thornton, PA. They were delivered Sunday morning.
That was a lot of rocks. They were dumped in our driveway near the back yard which was where I wanted to landscape. Do you know how many rocks that is? Well, I do and so does my back and legs. After transporting rocks for a couple of hours prior to the Eagles game, the rock pile was less than half gone. But the big tree in my back yard was now surrounded by rocks, covering up the bar ground that my dog Annabelle likes to dig in. I hope that this discourages her from digging there. I hope that doesn’t find another place, but this is probably a fruitless wish.
So, now I have a bunch more rocks that I can use for the front yard. And, now I’m thinking that maybe some fall plants would look good amongst the rocks.
Outline and PowerPoint

Creating an outline in MS Word is pretty simple. Under the View menu, select Outline. When I did this at home, I found that this feature was not yet installed on my computer. I clicked the OK button to install. It required my application CD.
Once the installation was complete, I selected View-Outline. An empty document was created with the Outline toolbar activated. I created an outine. I saved the file (just a simple Word document). Then I opened the file in MS PowerPoint. Presto! A presentation was created. All I had to do was to apply a design to it to change it from black and white to something more pleasing for the eye.
Give it a try. You’ll find it is easy.
