Monday was the surgery. It took longer than expected. They had a hard time getting an IV into Maria’s arm. They poked and poked. After about a half hour, they decided to use her neck artery. Maria put up with a lot.
When I went into the recovery room, I first saw her doctor. He said he put in two screws which would have to come out in 2 weeks. Then therapy would begin. She needs to keep the joint moving.
Maria was in pain when I saw her. The anesthesia was wearing off. We got our discharge instructions. When we got home, Maria went to bed. She slept a lot that day and Tuesday.
